Airport deal signing is put off till next week

The deal for the concession of 14 regional airports to German firm Fraport was not signed on Thursday because Infrastructure Minister Christos Spirtzis chose to attend the Council of European Union ministers in Brussels instead.

Sources say that the multimillion-euro agreement will be signed on Monday or Tuesday at the latest, after the minister returns from Brussels.

The activation of the deal will then depend on a set of conditions, which should lead to the payment of 1.2 billion euros.
