Extension granted for road tax payment after all
The Finance Ministry announced on Thursday the extension of the deadline for the payment of the 2016 road tax until Friday, January 8, 2016.
Despite assurances that there would be no extension granted to the deadline, given the high number of vehicle owners who had already paid the tax in time, Alternate Finance Minister Tryfon Alexiadis told Mega TV on Thursday morning that the ministry considered an extension given the delays to the payment of salaries etc.
The ministry later issued a statement confirming that the extension granted would be the only one, and that it also concerned the deadline for the submission of license plates by owners who would rather avoid having to pay the tax than use their vehicles.
