Greek unemployment decreases in November, says ELSTAT
Greece’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in November 2015 stood at 24.6 percent, down from 25.9 percent recorded in the same month in 2014 and compared to 24.7 percent in October 2015, the Hellenic Statistical Authority, ELSTAT, announced on Thursday.
The number of employed came to 3,620,750 people, the number of unemployed stood at 1,180,516, while the number of people defined as inactive came to 3,269,077, according to ELSTAT.
The highest unemployment rates in relation to age were recorded in the 15-24 (48 percent) and 25-34 (34.2 percent) age groups.
Thessaly and Central Greece recorded the highest unemployment rates (28.4 percent), followed by 27.1 percent in Epirus and Western Macedonia and 26.6 percent in Crete.
