Greek taxi startup announces new services

Taxibeat, a five-year-old Greek cab startup operating in Greece and Peru is unveiling new services. The company, whose annual growth rate currently stood at 180 percent, offers its services through smartphone applications.

According to Taxibeat CEO Nikos Drandakis, the company lists a total of 800,000 registered users in Athens and Lima. The number of drivers currently working with the company is 4,000 and is expected to rise to 7,000 by the end of the year.

Taxibeat’s services were expected to expand to the Peruvian cities of Cusco and Arequipa, while the company’s revamped smartphone app was also expected to be launched shortly. This includes a new option allowing passengers to estimate the value of their journey before ordering a taxi.

Meanwhile, new services addressed to companies operating in the tourism industry in Athens were expected to be launched in June.
