Fraport welcomes approval of airports concession contract

Fraport Greece on Monday responded to Parliament’s approval on Sunday of the concession contract for the 14 regional airports to the German-Greek consortium.

The company’s head, Alexander Zinell, said in a written statement that the parliamentary vote represents a milestone for the progress of an infrastructure project which holds particular significance for Greece.

The country’s creditors forced the government to withdraw the amendment it had tabled in the omnibus bill for the payment of 20 percent of Fraport’s revenues to go to the local authorities where the airports are.
