Tsipras eyes establishment of China-backed technology center in Athens

Huawei could provide technical expertise for the establishment of a technology park in Athens, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said during a visit at the Chinese tech giant’s Exhibition Centre in Beijing, reports said.
“The Greek government is for the first time making a serious investment in the information and technology sectors for these are oxygen to the economy,” said Tsipras during a tour of the center.
Meanwhile, the company’s rotating Chief Executive Guo Ping announced a three-year training program in new technologies for Greek students.
The Greek premier is on a five-day official visit to Beijing and Shanghai aimed at wooing investors.
