Fraport Greece to primarily recruit local staff, chief executive says

Alexander Zinell, CEO of Fraport Greece, which will operate, manage, develop and maintain 14 regional airports across the country, has said that the company will primarily recruit local staff.

"Only a handful will come from Germany," Zinell said in an interview with the Sunday edition of Die Welt newspaper.

“[Greeks] are working hard, they want to build something. They are anything but resigned,” Zinell told the newspaper.

He said the company had received 2,500 applications for a total of 500 positions advertised so far. Officials have said that the German-Greek investment in the 14 terminals will create more than 20,000 jobs.
