Katrougalos seeks ‘social front’ against the country’s creditors

Labor Minister Giorgos Katrougalos sought on Tuesday to form a common front against the country’s creditors, with the participation of employers’ associations and workers’ unions, ahead of September’s talks on the reform of the country’s labor system.

The associations and the unions have undertaken to draft a joint text by Friday, seeking support from political parties, too, with the declared intention to ‘take the big step of Greece’s return to the European social model so as to strengthen the rights of the workers,’ as the minister explained it.

He said the ‘national social front’ will ‘help us repel the extreme neoliberal positions of the well-known players.’
