ATHEX: Benchmark index drops 0.47 percent in slow trade

Neither the upward course of European markets nor the positive news about third-quarter growth was enough to convince traders to show Greek stocks some love on Monday, in what turned into another low-key session.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 579.88 points, shedding 0.47 percent from Friday’s 582.59 points. The large-cap FTSE 25 index contracted 0.14 percent to 1,534.19 points. Small-caps rose 1.498 percent.

In total 44 stocks went up, 41 came down and 16 stayed put.

Turnover reached 28.2 million euros, down from Friday’s 35.3 million.

In Nicosia the general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange declined 0.27 percent to close at 66.50 points.
