EBRD meeting begins in Cyprus

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s Annual Meeting and Business Forum starts in Nicosia, Cyprus on Tuesday and lasts until Thursday.

Its title this year is “Targeting Green and Inclusive Growth: Meeting Regional and Global Challenges.”

The event is also an opportunity for Cyprus to demonstrate to representatives of 67 shareholder countries and institutions and up to 2,000 participants from governments, businesses, civil society and media the island’s attractiveness as a place for business and more.

On Thursday, a 1.5-megawatt solar plant outside Nisou, 15 kilometers from Nicosia, will be inaugurated, sending its first electricity to the island’s grid.

That is one of a cluster of five new solar plants financed by the EBRD.
