ATHEX: Stock market consolidation continues

Still in search of news offering clear direction, Athinon Avenue had another mixed session on Wednesday, with banks ceding some ground while the majority of stocks notched up gains, on improved turnover.

Banks decreased 1.63 percent, with National dropping 3 percent and Piraeus continuing its slide, giving up 2.83 percent on Wednesday.

Persistent climbers such as Ellaktor (up 5.80 percent), GEK Terna (3.90 percent) Lamda Development (3.23 percent) continued their ascent.

In total 64 stocks posted gains, 50 sustained losses and 17 remained unchanged.

Turnover amounted to 62.2 million euros, up from Tuesday’s 44 million.
