Drug price shock in Parliament

The government unexpectedly tabled a law amendment in Parliament on Wednesday which provides for an increase in the prices of pharmaceutical products by up to 10 percent compared to the previous price list.

Health Minister Andreas Xanthos said that this change would have a fiscally neutral impact, but New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis accused the government of serving certain interests of pharmaceutical companies.
