Borza Internationale del Turismo…

Deputy Tourism Minister Anastassios Liaskos, who attended the Borza Internationale del Turismo (BIT) fair in Milan over the weekend, reported increased interest by Italians in visiting Greece this year. Speaking at the opening of the pavilion of the Greek National Tourism Organization (picture), which occupied more than half an acre, Liaskos said the infrastructure projects for last summer’s Olympics have considerably upgraded the country’s tourism product and quality. He also invited Italians to visit Patras next year, when it will be Cultural Capital of Europe. About 700-800 thousand Italians visit Greece annually, the third-largest ethnic group of incoming tourists. Liaskos also reported interest by Italian investors in the tourism sector in Greece.
