Greek stocks gain 0.20 pct

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) benchmark index rose yesterday from a four-day low, adding 9.36 points, or 0.2 percent, to 4,122.91. The FTSE/ATHEX 20 index of the country’s biggest companies climbed 0.3 percent to 2,195.77 points. Piraeus Port Authority SA fell -1.80, or 6.1 percent, to -27.70, the first retreat in six days. The Greek government, which owns 75 percent of the company, plans to proceed with a placement of as much as 25 percent of the company, Imerisia reported, without citing a source. Thessaloniki Port Authority SA dropped -1.80, or 4.9 percent, to -35.12, the first decline in seven days. The government also controls Thessaloniki Port. Turnover reached 254.9 million euros.
