Bourse declines for ninth day

Stocks dropped again for the ninth day in succession yesterday, a sequence not seen in the Greek bourse for the last six years. The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index declined by 0.34 percent to 3,649.82 points. Its total loss over the last nine sessions comes to 11.47 percent. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index contracted by 0.68 percent to 1,948.64 points. Coca-Cola HBC corrected some of the losses accumulated since last week with a 3.44 percent rise, the best from any blue chip yesterday. It was followed by Motor Oil (up 1.98 percent) and PPC (1.66 percent). Heading southward were Hellenic Post Bank (down 3.79 percent), Titan (3.28 percent) and Hellenic Technodomiki TEV (2.56 percent). Turnover reached 293.6 million euros.
