Accord signed

Finance Minister Giorgos Alogoskoufis (left) had a meeting yesterday with his Saudi counterpart Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al-Assaf in Athens, at which a bilateral agreement was signed to prevent the double taxation of residents and companies. ‘With this (agreement) we are building a favorable and stable tax system for businesses,’ the Greek ministry said in a statement. The agreement is also aimed at stamping out tax evasion. Talks additionally focused on broadening economic ties between the two nations and recent developments in the international oil market.
