Intralot gets 7th US contract

Lottery systems provider Intralot said yesterday it will provide the Louisiana Lottery Corporation with a new online and instant gaming system, its seventh US contract. Shares in Intralot jumped 1.89 percent after news of the deal, to 3.77 euros, pushing its market capitalization to almost 600 million euros. The shares outperformed a 0.34 percent dip on the Athens Exchange’s benchmark general index to 1,678 points. Intralot said the conversion to the new system will take place in July 2010 as part of a 10-year contract, with an option to renew it for another two years. No financial details were provided. «With the addition of Louisiana, the nation’s 25th-largest lottery, Intralot continues to expand its footprint in the dynamic lottery market,» the Greek company said in a statement. Intralot is present in more than 50 countries, including Australia, Spain and Germany.
