Fourth day of gains for stocks
Stocks rose for the fourth day in a row on the local bourse, amid a favorable climate internationally. The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index climbed to 2,230.44 points yesterday, rising by 0.77 percent from Thursday’s close. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index increased by 0.93 percent to end at 1,143.58 points. The biggest rise among blue chips was for Hellaktor (up 5.67 percent), followed by OPAP (4.14 percent) and Titan cement (3.15 percent). Worst off were the stocks of Public Power Corporation (down 3.90 percent) and Motor Oil (2.99 percent). Turnover reached 135 million euros.
