OTE to offer online protection courtesy of Finland’s F-Secure

OTE telecom said yesterday it will provide its Conn-x fast Internet service with online protection in cooperation with Finland’s F-Secure. The online service will provide customers with anti-virus protection, keeping worms, trojans and spyware at bay, while also providing firewall, anti-spam and parental control services, OTE said in a statement. Each customer will be able to use the service on up to two computers free of charge for two months before opting to pay a monthly cost of 3.60 euros. ADSL subscribers of OTE, the country’s largest telecom company, rose 16.8 percent year-on-year to 1.07 million in the third quarter of the year from 924,652 in the same period last year, according to information posted on its website.
