Reliance on ECB funding reduced

Greek banks’ reliance on European Central Bank liquidity declined in October for a third straight month. Bank of Greece data showed that lenders borrowed a total of 92.4 billion euros from the ECB’s refinancing operations compared with 94.3 billion in September. Greek banks have lost wholesale market access in the wake of the country’s debt crisis.
