Small-caps outperform in quiet trading session

Small-caps stole the show during yesterday’s bourse session in Athens, on a day when turnover was the lowest in the last 59 sessions. The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 1,492.92 points, posting a rise of 0.43 percent from last Friday’s close at 1,486.50 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index grew by 0.87 percent to 711.71 points. The small-cap FTSE/ATHEX 80 index gained 2.35 percent. Marfin Investment Group led the blue chips with growth of 8.82 percent. ATEbank was the worst off, registering a drop of 4.82 percent. In total, 105 stocks moved up, 65 went down and 51 remained unchanged. Evrofarma led the gainers with a 20 percent rise, while Perseus posted the biggest loss with a 18.42 percent decline. Turnover came to 62.1 million euros.
