TANKERS Firmer conditions for Suezmaxes not only in the Med. but also in W. Africa. Sun for 130,000 tons of cargo, loading October 24, discharging USAC, has fixed M/T «Majestic» at W/S 119, while Exxonmobil has fixed M/T «Decathlon» for same cargo quantity, loading November 25, discharging Med., at W/S 125. – In the Med., the availability of tonnage is tighter, with a number of cargoes expected mainly out of the Black Sea. Karran for 135,000 tons of cargo, loading November 17 Novorossisk, discharging Med., has fixed M/T «Isi Olive» at W/S 111.50. – Steadier conditions for Aframaxes in the Med. and Cont. In the Med., the 80,000-ton round-trip voyages are being fixed at W/S 130-135, while at W/S 115 in the Cont. – Petroplus for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading November 8 Algeria, discharging UKC/Med, has fixed M/T «Minerva Anna» at W/S 135, while in the Continent, Stasco for same cargo quantity, loading November 6 Baltic, discharging UKC, has fixed M/T «Luzon Spirit» at W/S 115. – Caribs appear firmer with the latest fixtures at W/S 155 for the 70,000-ton cargo liftings. – In the Med., Most has fixed M/T «Gotland Spirit» for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading November 11 Egypt, discharging Italy, at W/S 135. – In the Cont., Chevtex has fixed M/T «Alfa Germania» for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading October 31 UK, discharging UKC, at W/S 115. – In Caribs, Exxonmobil for 70,000 tons of cargo, loading November 12, discharging US Gulf, has fixed M/T «Corcovado» at W/S 155. DRY CARGO The interest in Capers continues with Hanjin having fixed M/V «Aquadonna,» 161,000 dwt, built 1995, delivery Continent mid November for two years’ trading at USD 15,000 daily, while Korea Line has fixed M/V «Xin Yuan Hai,» 186,000 dwt, built 1988, delivery Far East for 7-9 month period, at USD 16,500 daily. – On Panamaxes, the market is still providing of plenty of inquiries in the Atlantic. A mid-1980s built, 65,000 dwt, unit was fixed with delivery Passero via Brazil, redelivery Black Sea, at USD 8,400 daily. – On grain cargoes and in the traditional US Gulf / Japan route, Hanjin for 54,000 tons of cargo, loading November 9-20, has fixed «European TBN» at USD 24.25 per ton with 11 days all purposes. – In the East, PCL has fixed M/V «Unirial,» 69,607 dwt, built 1993, delivery Taiwan end October for three- to five-month period, at USD 8,750 daily. – In the Atlantic, Bottiglieri has fixed M/V «Salvatore Cafiero,» 75,668 dwt, built 2001, delivery end October Gibraltar for two-three laden legs, redelivery Atlantic at USD 10,250 daily, option redelivery Far East, at USD 11,500 daily. – On smaller sizes, Imperial has fixed M/V «Anastasia,» 26,118 dwt, built 1981, delivery end October, redelivery Egyptian Med., at USD 8,250 daily.
