Teacher ran child porn site on Net

An Athens primary school teacher has been arrested on suspicion of running an Internet child pornography ring with five of his former fellow-villagers, police said yesterday. Another three men have been arrested – including Larissa junior high school teacher Athanassios Kostakis, 43 – while two more will be charged with dealing in child pornography. All six suspects are from the village of Makryhori, near Larissa. Police said Athens primary school teacher Constantinos Agorastos, 41, started the ring, drawing in Kostakis, Gerasimos Mylonas, 26, Alexandros Tsitouras, 31 – both who still live in Makryhori – as well as Athanassios Simopoulos, 22, and Petros Makris, 34, who have not been arrested. The suspects allegedly exchanged child pornography through websites created at least two years ago, on which they also hosted adult pornographic photos and videos. Some 900,000 people are believed to have visited the sites – which proved a costly pastime as many visitors were redirected to other sites at international connection rates. Police seized three computers and a large number of CD-ROMs and computer disks.
