The Rio-Antirio bridge linking the Peloponnese peninsula with western mainland Greece is expected to be ready for the Olympic torch relay in August 2004, Prime Minister Costas Simitis said on a visit to the site just east of Patras yesterday. The 2.25km suspension bridge will be ready for pedestrians by then and will be completed by October 2004.
