Police search Thessaloniki airport after bomb threat
Police were sent to Thessaloniki’s international airport on Thursday after an anonymous caller warned that a bomb had been planted on the premises.
The caller telephoned an online news organization shortly before 8 a.m., saying that there was an explosive device on the grounds of the airport.
Officers were dispatched immediately with sniffer dogs trained in detecting explosives to search the airport building. By noon they had not discovered any suspicious devices.
Scheduled flights were not canceled or delayed.
