Six die in fire at Chinese clothing store in Athens
Six people were killed on Tuesday morning in a fire at a Chinese clothing store in Egaleo, western Athens.
The fire service was called the multistorey building at the corner of Eleftheriou Venizelou and Kanari streets at 2.16 a.m. but firefighters said that by the time they reached the store, the blaze had already spread.
It took firefighters two hours to put out the fire and only discovered that people had been inside the building when they were able to enter.
Authorities believe that the six charred bodies found inside were of economic migrants who worked at the store and lived in the building.
