TV technician dies while covering protest

A technician for Antenna TV station died after being electrocuted on Monday afternoon as he was helping a crew set up to cover a protest outside the house of magistrate presiding over the trial of suspected members of the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire urban guerrilla group.

The TV crew arrived at the home of magistrate Constantinos Baltas after a group of about 50 people held a protest outside the property in Melissia, northern Athens. They scattered flyers and spraypainted the wall.

The 32-year-old technician was killed when we raised a broadcasting dish and it touched overhead power cables.
