Free access to museums and ancient sites

Visitors will gain free entry to many museums and archaeological sites in Greece on Wednesday as part of the celebrations to mark International Museum Day.

Events will be held at 46 museums and sites around the country.

Authorities pick one museum to be showcased each year. This year, they have chosen the Filio Haidemenou Museum of Asia Minor Hellenism, which has a unique collection of items that belonged to Greeks who lived in Asia Minor.

The museum is located in the northern Athens suburb of Nea Filadelfia.
