New ombudsman sworn in
Professor Calliope Spanou of Athens University was sworn in yesterday as Greece?s new ombudsman, taking over officially from Giorgos Kaminis.
Spanou is a professor of political science and public administration and has served in the post as a substitute for Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis since October 2010, when he resigned in order to run in local elections.
