Vaccination doctor given prison sentence

A 65-year-old doctor who worked for the IKA social security fund was sentenced to 18 months in prison and had her license to practice medicine revoked for a year by an Iraklio court on Thursday after being found guilty of soliciting and accepting a 30-euro bribe to inoculate a 2-year-old child.

The doctor has appealed the sentence.

She insists that the money was not a bribe.
