No metro, ISAP service on Friday

There will be no service on the Athens metro and on the Piraeus-Kifissia electric railway (ISAP) on Friday as workers are to stage a 24-hour strike in protest at plans to streamline their organizations.

Protesting workers are planning to hold a demonstration outside the offices of the Transport Ministry on Mesogeion Avenue at 10 a.m. on Friday.

Commuters also face disruptions on the weekend. The section of ISAP between Piraeus and Omonia stations will be out of service on Saturday and Sunday, August 27 and 28, as renovation works get under way on the tracks. Passengers can use the X23 bus instead.
