Triple drug bust in central Athens

An Athens appeals court on Tuesday was hearing three separate cases regarding arrests by drug squad officers in central Athens.

The first, and largest, bust was made by officers in downtown Patissia who, acting on a tip-off raided the home of two men — an Albanian aged 27 and a Syrian aged 40 — where they found nearly six kilograms of heroin, 400 euros in cash, precision scales, four cellular phones and smaller quantities of other illegal narcotics.

Meanwhile, officers in another part of central Athens arrested two Albanian men on charges of possession after finding 212 grams of cocaine on them, while an operation by narcotics officers in notorious Tositsa Street in Exarchia and in the area around Athens University led to the arrest of four foreign nationals who attempted to sell drugs to an undercover police officer.
