Grenade explosion kills Kurdish man
Police in Thessaloniki were on Thursday investigating a possible terrorist connection to a 35-year-old Kurdish man who was killed in a large explosion that occurred in a basement apartment in the city?s neighborhood of Triandria.
It appears the man died when a hand grenade went off in his hands but an investigation is yet to confirm the cause of the blast.
A search of the apartment turned up several more hand grenades and two machine guns.
It remained unclear whether the 35-year-old is connected to Turkish trade unionist Gulaferit Unsal, whose extradition to Germany was ordered by a Greek court in August.
