Papandreou and Samaras conclude coalition talks

Prime Minister George Papandreou and New Democracy leader Antonis Samaras have ended their meeting with President Karolos Papoulias aimed at forming a national unity government.

The meeting lasted about 45 minutes. No statements were made immediately after the talks but Papoulias is expected to speak to the public this evening.

Sources said that there was an agreement in principle to work together.
