PASOK leadership talk continues
Deputy Prime Ministetr Theodoros Pangalos said on Thursday that discussion regarding PASOK?s leadership is untimely — at least for now.
Speaking on Vima radio Pangalos stated that the country currently needs to focus on the European Union summit and the progression of Greece?s negotiations over private sector involvement (PSI) in the country’s bailout. He did add, however, that he is ready to unveil his thoughts on the matter in the near future.
Regarding the duration of the interim government, Pangalos repeated his position that the Papademos government ought to accomplish its mission, hopefully by spring.
Meanwhile, speaking on Skai on Thursday PASOK MP Eva Kaili noted that the party needs to change leadership.
Regarding Development, Competitiveness and Shipping Minister Michalis Chrisochoidis’s severe criticism of former Prime Minister George Papandreou, Kaili said that while criticism and self-criticism are necessary, it would have been preferable for Chrisochoidis to have voiced his concerns at an earlier stage.
