Businesspeople held for tax evasion
Police in northern Greece on Monday detained two entrepreneurs on charges of large-scale tax evasion.
The first case concerns a 41-year-old contractor from Ptolemaida, near Kozani, who had undertaken projects for the Public Power Corporation and and is alleged to owe some 6.5 million euros in value-added tax to the state.
The second case concerns the 45-year-old vice president of a hydraulics firm which is alleged to owe some 95,000 euros to the state.
