Libyans block road after Thessaloniki fight

Streets in the center of Thessaloniki were blocked late on Wednesday by several dozen Libyan men protesting after a brawl at a local hotel left a number of their compatriots injured.

The Libyans were in the northern port city receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the North African country?s eight-month civil war when, according to reports, they were attacked by a group of Greek youths on a school trip to the city.

Sources suggested that the fight broke out after some of the Libyan men made advances toward some of the girls in the high school group, which was booked into a central hotel located on a strip of accomodation units, where the Libyans were also staying.

Two students and seven Libyans were reported as being treated for minor injuries.
