Korydallos Prison warden’s car blown up outside her home

The car belonging to the warden at Korydallos Prison, Athens’s maximum security jail, was blown up outside her house early on Friday.

The explosion occurred at 4.40 a.m. in the neighborhood of Dafni. A 50-year-old woman suffered minor injuries by flying shards of glass.

Police said that there were two calls warning of the blast about 20 minutes before the explosion happened. One was to a TV station, the other to a news website.

The anti-terrorism squad is investigation the explosion. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
