Undercover police net baby traders
Police arrested three members of the Roma community in a suburb of Kavala, northern Greece, on Monday in connection with the attempted sale of a 2-month-old baby to an undercover female police officer who had been posing as a would-be foster parent.
Police said they also arrested a 12-year-old girl, also Roma, who is believed to be the baby?s natural mother.
The infant, which was unharmed, was being treated at a local pediatric clinic.
Officers said the suspects were believed to be members of a well-organized ring selling babies for around 12,000 euros.
