Jobless benefits cut in line with minimum wage

Greece?s Manpower Employment Organization (OAED) confirmed on Monday that a government decision to reduce unemployment benefits by 22 percent, in line with a cut to the minimum wage, has been published and will be implemented from Friday.

The basic monthly unemployment pay for Greeks who do not have children will be 360 euros, for those with one child it will be 396 euros and for people with two children it will reach 432 euros.

These are the amounts that those among just over 1 million unemployed people in Greece still entitled to benefits will receive on Friday.
