Stolen credit cards used to pay 47,000 euros in electricity bills

Two Greeks and three foreigners have been arrested for using stolen credit cards to pay almost 50,000 euros in electricity bills.

Police said on Thursday that the five suspects had paid 80 bills totalling 47,383 euros using 10 credit cards between January 4 and January 19 this year.

Police said they traced the suspects via their Internet connections as they made the payments online. One of the suspects owned an Internet cafe.
