EOPYY doctors refuse to provide services on credit
Doctors who work with the National Organization for Healthcare Provision (EOPYY), Greece?s main healthcare provider, joined pharmacists on Monday in saying that they would no longer provide patients with service on credit.
The doctors say they are owed some 700 million euros by the social security funds that were merged to form EOPPY earlier this year.
Pharmacists have stopped supplying drugs on credit to customers who claim insurance cover from EOPYY until they receive 76 million euros, which is part of what they say they are owed by the organization.
EOPYY has promised to pay the money this week.
