Rector complains about police raid

The rector of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), Constantinos Gatsios, wrote to the police Thursday to complain that about 30 officers from the motorcycle-riding Delta team entered university grounds early in the day and harassed students for no reason.

In his letter, Gatsios said that some students had stayed until the early hours to count votes from the student elections and there was ?no obvious reason? for the police to enter the grounds. Some students claim they were hit by Delta officers. Gatsios said such actions create ?unnecessary tension.? Police are investigating the incident.

New Democracy?s student organization DAP-NDFK won the elections, as it has done every year since 1987.
