Thirty would-be migrants rescued from Evros islet
Border guards in Evros, northern Greece, on Tuesday rescued 30 would-be migrants from an islet in the middle of the Evros River that separates Greece from Turkey.
The migrants, mostly from Algeria, Syria and Morocco, had become trapped on the islet after trying to cross the river in a rickety dinghy.
They were detained after authorities established that they were unhurt.
