Albanian woman held for large hash haul
A 24-year-old Albanian woman faced a prosecutor in the northwestern city of Ioannina on Wednesday after a search by police on her vehicle on a country road near the Albanian border turned up 110 kilograms of cannabis. It was unclear whether the woman had driven over the border with the drugs or had collected them from an accomplice.
Police investigators believe the 24-year-old to be a key member of an organized crime ring that has been smuggling large quantities of cannabis and other drugs into the country for several months.
