Peloponnese blazes put out
Firefighters on Wednesday were able to control two blazes at Lefkakia in Argolida and Souli in Kiato, both in the northern Peloponnese, which had damaged large tracts of farmland and threatened residential areas.
The Lefkakia blaze, which broke out on Tuesday, is estimated to have destroyed some 250 hectares of olive groves and greenhouses.
