Owners get extension to declare illegal properties

The Environment Ministry on Friday announced it is granting an extension to owners of illegally built properties to submit an application to participate in a scheme allowing them to pay a fine in order to protect the property from demolition for 30 years.

The deadline for new applications is now September 14 instead of June 30.

People who have already applied have until the end of the year to present the documents backing their claim.
