Suspected drug trafficker detained at Athens airport
Police at Athens International Airport Thursday detained a 48-year-old passenger disembarking a flight from Sao Paolo, Brazil, after finding 4.5 kilograms of cocaine in six pieces of luggage he was carrying.
No details were released regarding the suspect?s nationality. Meanwhile police in Kallithea, south of central Athens, turned up 18 kilograms of heroin.
A 34-year-old Albanian national was detained in connection with the drugs, a cache of weapons and a makeshift workshop for the doctoring and packaging of narcotics.
