Cool spaces to escape heat wave
City authorities have set up dozens of air-conditioned rooms at retirement homes, cultural centers, gyms and other municipal facilities for citizens to cool off during a heat wave forecast to last until the weekend.
Meanwhile the Athens Medical Association has advised the elderly and those with health problems to refrain from overexerting themselves and overexposing themselves to the sun, drink lots of water and shower frequently.
