Major cocaine haul made in Thessaloniki

Authorities in Thessaloniki on Wednesday intercepted a shipment of 168 kilos of cocaine destined for the Greek market, following a surveillance operation at the city?s port, conducted with the cooperation of the US Embassy branch of the Drug Enforcement Agency.

Narcotics officers arrested four men — one Spaniard, one Portuguese and two Bulgarians.

The drugs were found in two vehicles.

The street value of the haul, which is believed to have been shipped from Latin America, is estimated at 15 million euros.
